Research Support

McGill maintains a high-powered and incredibly friendly research environment. It offers a crazy amount of infrastructure, scientific networking, and financial support.
The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada currently provides support through a 5-year Discovery Grant.
Zurich Instruments makes the best digital lock-ins I have seen, and oddly they also seem to be the most cost-effective. Great tech support, too!
Phivac provides a variety of vacuum components (e.g. a turbo pumping station and UHV gauge for us so far). Good pricing, friendly service.
In addition to TEM grids, Norcada makes silicon nitride membranes with very high mechanical quality and low optical absorption. They are very knowledgeable and can fabricate custom devices upon request.
